The Acura CL – A History of the Acura CL Navigation System
The Acura CL was the first model from this Japanese brand to be manufactured in the United States from the periods of 1996 to 1999 and then subsequent later models from 2001 to 2003. It was not until the second generation of the vehicle was released in 2001 that owners were able to take advantage of in-car dashboard navigation. The Type-S Acura CL version came with a navigation system – updates of which you can access via the links on this page – and subsequent models also have the GPS as an option in the car.
One criticism of the Acura CL vehicle was the fact that there was no manual transmission model available from 2001 – in fact of all the Acura CLs that were produced only 23% of the cars made actually came with the Acura CL Navigation System installed. By 2004 the CL was dropped completely from the Acura range due to the declining number of sales in the American market.
